2009 Annual DHA Meeting

The 2009 annual meeting of the Dellwood Homeowner’s Association was held Thursday, May 7 at the China Sea Buffet in Hendersonville. Vice-president Scott McDermott presided over the meeting since the current president Keith Lyerly is working in China. Approximately 30 residents attended. Thanks to Syd and Roz Harris for making arrangements for the meeting.

After a nice dinner, Scott summarized the activities for the year:

  • Dues Collection: 59 out of 59 homes paid dues this year. That’s 100 percent!
  • Garage Sale: Organized by Scott McDermott with 15 families participating
  • Architectural Committee: One “Form 101” Submitted.
  • 2008 Annual Dellwood Picnic: Managed by Brian and Stephanie Kowald, well attended
  • Facilities: Work on “Dellwood Park” (Robert Hudson, The Lyerly’s, The Reeve’s)
  • Annual Dinner: Organized by Syd and Roz Harris
  • Marking on Dellwood road signs that may have been gang tags were reported and removed.
  • Three residents passed this year: Frank Licursi, Janie Sims and Mary Murray
  • There are three houses and a lot for sale
Scott thanked the outgoing officers:
Keith Lyerly - President (5th year on board)
Mark White - Board Member (1st year on board)

The new slate of officers were unanimously elected. The new officers for 2009-2010 are:
President: Sam Battis
Vice-President: Brian Kowald
Treasurer: Roz Harris
Secretary: Jeanny Reeves
Board Members: Max Capps; Robert Hudson; Scott McDermott

Following the business meeting, Alex and Hunter Kowald were the guest speakers. They gave a presentation about their high school robotics team which included a robot demonstration.
