The short version (aug 2003): Keith and I met in High School in the fall of 1974. Keith was a senior, I, a junior at Travelers Rest High School in Travelers Rest, SC. We dated almost 6 years while finishing college. We married in 1979 and will celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary next May 2004. We have three "almost growns" ages 22, 18, 15.
Keith has worked in textiles since graduating from Clemson University. He has been employed by Coats for 16 years where he began as an IE manager in Marble, NC. Keith is now the plant manager of the Coats-Timon spinning plant in Tlaxcala, Mexico. He has worked in Tlaxcala (pronounced tlahs-cah-lah) for 18 months. We are first-time working expatriates meaning this is our first experience working out of the country. But rather than being called an 'expatriate', I prefer the term 'southern international' for no matter where fate takes us, we'll always be southerners at heart. The Blue Ridge Mountains, the Carolina Coasts, old Baptist hymns, ACC football, and the call of Bob Whites are as ingrained in us as our natural inclination to render a one syllable word into three. Keith and I are nomads at heart - this move was our 14th! Due to our many moves I have had the opportunity to own several small businesses all of which revolved around interior design. My designing energies are now sated through web design.
yonderways.com originally began as a means to be in touch with loved ones in the states. The site is slowly becoming a popular English language site for Puebla, Mexico thanks to our growing visitors like you! |
