Shop Yonderways is a small mom and pop operation owned and managed by southern American expats working and living in Shanghai, China. Donna (me! - the author of this information) is a professional web designer and the facilitator of this site. Keith is a career manufacturing professional and his job is why we have the opportunity to live in Shanghai.

In the spring of 2009 we were introduced to the famous Shanghai Pearl Market - and upon meeting a knowledgeable and experienced pearl dealer, we felt compelled to find a way to offer the beautiful brilliant water gems to family and friends. Eventually Shop Yonderways was conceived and opened in the fall of 2009.

We confess before this enterprise we were pearl novices. After our decision to open the online shop we undertook a crash course education and learned enough to be discerning of pearl quality and enough to know a real pearl professional when we talked with them. But as an added quality assurance we sought the advice of a NC professional jeweler. He confirmed our pearls were the quality we state, and upon seeing a strand of our Akoya pearls, the jewelers' statement was, "stunning".
