Breakfast
One of our favorites for pastries – both savory and sweet. Located in the Flat Rock Historic Village at Rainbow Row. Eat in the little dining room, or on the spacious deck, or get a to-go order. Our kids never miss a visit here when visiting Yonderways. Learn more at their website.
Keith and I love to eat on the deck in good weather. Beatles themed and all good fare. If you’re hungry Donna recommends the Helter Skeltor. See more at their website.
Directly across the street from Mean Mr. Mustard Cafe – you literally take a right out of our driveway and continue straight into town until you turn right into their parking lot. Hendough is relatively new and a HUGE local hit. They serve up donuts to incredible fried brussels sprouts – but you’ve GOT to try a chicken biscuit! Learn more at their website
Located in the historic Flat Rock Village just a few doors down from Flat Rock Village Bakery. Delicious locally sourced foods served for breakfast and lunch – dining from 8am-2pm. Learn more at their website.
Breakfasts here are delightful, especially when enjoyed on the patio by the large water fountain. Located in Cedar Mtn – the cafe is a short drive through DuPont State Forest. Donna recommends the Mexican Omelette. Learn more at their website.
Located in the heart of downtown Brevard, this bakery has been a family favorite for almost 20yrs. If you love traditional English scones – THIS is the place to enjoy them! Learn more at their website.
A Hendersonville classic – traditional cakes, pies, DONUTS, cookies and more. Our granddaughter loves to visit. Long time locals adore this classic bakery. We’re listing McFarlans under breakfast because – HEY – You’re on vacation!! Learn more at their website.
We love Underground for the BREZELS!! Keith likes the sweet, I am a fan of the jalapeno. Something for everyone – sweet, savory, traditional, non-traditional. We highly recommend this bakery located on historic 7th avenue. Learn more at their website.
Joey’s Bagels has been a GAME CHANGER in Hendersonville over the last few years. Authentic New York style bagels have been embraced fully by the locals. And rightly so – from the impeccable bagels to the fabulous deli selections to pair with the bagels – Joey’s has it ALL! Great Hendersonville staple to enjoy all day long. Lunch
Madame Roque’s Meat Emporium & Pickled Curiosities … a must-visit Hendersonville original. Located on Main St, Hendersonville. We’ve listed them as a lunch venue, but enjoy them for lunch and dinner – and even schedule a tattoo!! See their facebook page to learn more.
CASH or local check ONLY at this beloved Hendersonville hot dog joint from yesteryear. It’s a local favorite – eat in or dine-out. We’re fond of the slaw dogs. Plenty of fries to share if you get one order. Learn more at their website.
South Rock Sports Bar makes our lunch selection for one reason – WINGS!! And they’re always on sale on Thursdays. We love the dry-rubbed spicy. We also love the “bottle caps” jalapenos batter dipped and fried. This place is a local favorite for lunch at for late into the night – they attract great local musicians. Learn more at their website.
Located behind the Rainbow Row shops in Flat Rock – Hubba Hubba offers simply delicious wood fired BBQ and sides. The vinegar slaw and potato salads are so awecome I just get both! Then there’s the cornbread, mac and cheese, collards and deviled eggs…. y’all just need to go! You’ll eat outside in one of the many covered dining areas and could very well have a chicken pecking at your feet while you eat. They’re open seasonally – Learn more at their website.
